Home and Community Options presents
The Little Mermaid

Ariel, King Triton’s youngest daughter, wishes to pursue the human Prince Eric in the world above, bargaining with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to trade her tail for legs. But the bargain is not what it seems, and Ariel needs the help of her colorful friends, Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull and Sebastian the crab to restore order under the sea.

Home and Community Options provides support and residential services to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to live full lives in the community. These productions were established to support the needs of HCO in serving people with disabilities; they have become a part of local community life and bring together some of the strongest talent in the Winona area. HCO strives to provide a quality musical production that integrates individuals with disabilities into the performing arts as a means of enhancing life in our community for all.

The popularity of the Home and Community Options‘ musical productions continues to grow, providing high quality and family friendly performances to sell-out crowds year after year. While HCO’s yearly production acts as a fundraiser to assist them in providing much needed services, supplies, and equipment for those they support, its primary purpose is to promote the inclusion of individuals with disabilities in our daily lives. Participation in this community theater event as cast members, backstage crew members, and other volunteering roles behind the scenes helps those HCO serves build lasting relationships with their neighbors while gaining skills in independence and daily living. HCO’s musical is just one example that individuals with disabilities offer valued contributions to society.
