Frozen River Film Festival has produced its first film!
FRFF is proud to present The Lark Ascending. This film aims to combine the themes and symbols created in classical music and match them with video footage to show how Winona’s natural environment reflects the chosen piece. The footage captured will highlight the beauty of the bluffs and the Mississippi River Valley while the folk-inspired melodies of The Lark Ascending by Ralph Vaughn Williams echo the sentiment through song. The experience of the film will be enhanced through a live, real-time performance of the music.
This event will feature several nature-based films including The Lark Ascending and will conclude with a Q and A with the videographer and producers.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts & cultural heritage fund and by the Carl and Verna Schmidt Foundation.
