Home and Community Options: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a fantastic musical adventure with an out-of-this-world car that flies through the air and sails the seas. An eccentric inventor, Caractacus Potts sets about restoring an old race car from a scrap heap with the help of his children, Jeremy and Jemima. They soon discover the car has magical properties, including the ability to float and take flight. Trouble occurs when the evil Baron Bomburst desires the magic car for himself. The family joins forces with Truly Scrumptious and batty Grandpa Potts to outwit the dastardly Baron and Baroness and their villainous henchman, the Child Catcher. Filled with amazing stage spectacle and unforgettable songs, including the Academy Award-nominated title song, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a high-flying, fun-filled adventure for the entire family.

Home and Community Options provides support and residential services to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to live full lives in the community. These productions were established to support the needs of HCO in serving people with disabilities; they have become a part of local community life and bring together some of the strongest talent in the Winona area. HCO strives to provide a quality musical production that integrates individuals with disabilities into the performing arts as a means of enhancing life in our community for all.

The popularity of the Home and Community Options‘ musical productions continues to grow, providing high quality and family friendly performances to sell-out crowds year after year. While HCO’s yearly production acts as a fundraiser to assist them in providing much needed services, supplies, and equipment for those they support, its primary purpose is to promote the inclusion of individuals with disabilities in our daily lives. Participation in this community theater event as cast members, backstage crew members, and other volunteering roles behind the scenes helps those HCO serves build lasting relationships with their neighbors while gaining skills in independence and daily living. HCO’s musical is just one example that individuals with disabilities offer valued contributions to society.
